Mentoring is a relational experience where one or more persons invest their lives in others (their mentee/s so that they can realize their full potentials). However, it is also reciprocal relationship that involves valuable exchanges between individuals for personal and societal development.

Mentoring provides tremendous opportunity to close the inequalities and inequities in society. It facilitates empowerment and improvement of life and society. Some of the greatest minds had life changing mentoring experiences such as Aristotle, Serena Williams, Barack Obama and Michael Jordan. They have all had strong support in deliberate and intentional ways that has led to their success.

Mentoring is not easy nor is it an ad-hoc, hap-hazard process devoid of relationship, flexibility and process. That’s why there are two Mentoring models and how you mentor can affect your mentoring experience.
